How much is a counselling session?
All sessions are $95 for 50 minutes
Rebates can be received with various health providers
Concessions can be negotiated at the free counselling consultation
Are my details kept private?
Counsellors are required by law to keep personal details of clients for 7 years. These details are kept under lock
and key and are not shared with anyone. The only time information is given out is when permission is granted by
the client or when there is a subpoena by law.
How do I pay for my counselling session?
Payment for counselling is required immediately after the session. With Telephone or Zoom sessions I will email you
an invoice by which you can make an EFT. The banking details will be on the invoice. At Face to Face sessions you can pay
either by cash or Visa.
How do I cancel or reschedule a counselling session?
You can make contact with me at viewpoint.devries@gmail.com or by calling 0481 348 264. Always leave a text message if I
don’t answer. I will be in touch and confirm your cancellation or your new booking time. Please make sure you contact
as soon as possible before the 24 hours of your session time so that your time slot can be made available for another person.
How do I book a session?
You can book a session simply by ringing 0481 348 264. If there is no answer, please leave your name and phone number
on a text so I can return your call. Another option is to fill in the email request form on the Contact page.

What times are available for counselling?
I work Tuesdays and Wednesdays and book clients in between 8:30am and 6:30pm.
What happens after I book my first counselling session?
Before your first session of counselling I will send you a contract (via email) to read through. You will need to send this back
signed. I will also ask you to write down some thoughts and possible goals you might have for your counselling.
What happens in the counselling sessions?
At each session you can pick a topic or aspect you wish to talk about. We will also review how your last session went and discuss
any suitable activities you may like to work on outside of the counselling session.
What do I need for a Zoom session?
All you need is a mobile, tablet or computer. You can either use a free Zoom account or simply click on the free Zoom link for the
session (without registering).
What is Person Centred Therapy?
Person Centred Therapy focuses on the importance of the counsellor and client relationship. The counsellor aims to build rapport
by showing positive regard and empathy towards a client. The client in turn begins to feel safe and confident enough to work towards
addressing the issues in their life. This is believed to bring about successful counselling.
What is Solution Focused Therapy?
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach which encourages clients
to discover their strengths and find suitable solutions for the issues they are facing. The counselling is more present and future focused.
What is Imaginal Exposure Therapy?
Imaginal Exposure Therapy is a behavioural approach in counselling in which a counsellor assists a client to face their fear or past trauma
by using their imagination to revisit their thoughts and reprocess them. It is usually the first step before a client faces a fear or trauma
